Jones: Weight training not to blame
During the fight one of his coaches even mentioned to the other he felt as though heavy weight lifting had affected his cardio. However, Jones dismissed that notion.

Despite winning all five rounds on all three judges scorecards, Jon Jones was criticized for his performance at UFC 197 against Saint Preux. Pundits said that Jones looked like he wasn’t in the best shape and looked tired and others criticized his lack of activity or willingness to try and finish.
During the fight one of his coaches even mentioned to the other he felt as though heavy weight lifting had affected his cardio. However, Jones dismissed that notion at today’s press event for UFC 200 that took place at Madison Square Garden in New York:
Speaking at a press conference in New York on Wednesday to promote his UFC 200 headlining contest against light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, Jones rejected criticism like Jacksons’.
“I disagree with it. I felt great,” he said (at about the 9:55 mark of the above video).
“I had the same pace going the whole fight. I really didn’t do too much. I did just enough to win the fight. I started out the fight pretty slow. Every round of the fight was a consistent speed so there was never an issue with cardio.”
