There are numerous rumors that the UFC has been in serious talks about a potential purchase. John Kavanagh, coach of featherweight champion Conor McGregor, has said that if the league does sell, the fighter might be looking for equity.

Interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones appeared recently on Fox Sports Live, and was asked by hosts Jay & Dan whether he felt McGregor deserves a piece of the UFC.

“No,” replied Jones, as transcribed by Zane Simon for BE. “No I don’t. The UFC has created Conor McGregor. I think sometimes he forgets that. But, he is a magnificent talent and we’re all glad to have him as a part of the sport. He’s bringing a lot of attention, and just so much more recognition. And at the end of the day, when he wins, we all win. So, I’m grateful for him.”

Jones fights light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 on July 9.
