UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones posted a video on Instagram of a doctor stitching him up after he received a cut over his eye in training. He was not wearing headgear at the time.

The cut will heal in just days, long before his fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 178 on September 27. However, it poses short-lived difficulties for his training camp. Further, the stitching was clearly done in doctor’s office and not by a plastic surgeon. Given the dangerous placement of the cut over the eye, great care needs to be taken with cuts of this nature.
