Although the two are no longer fighting next, it hasn’t stopped Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier from attacking each other on social media.

The exchange seems to have started when Cormier publicly offered his services on the MMA Hour to Ovince Saint Preux in his preparation to fight Jones at UFC 197.

Jones apparently did appreciate Cormier’s willingness to help Saint Preux and lashed out on Twitter:

Cormier himself has never been known to shy away from conflict on social media and responded to Jones tweet:

Then the two really went at each:

About Jon Jones

Title Shot After his UFC 126 win, while still inside the Octagon, Jones was offered the chance to step in for injured teammate Rashad Evans to face light heavyweight champ Shogun Rua on six weeks’ notice. Jones accepted and went on to dominate Rua as well as his subsequent opponents: Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans and Vitor Belfort.

King Among Kings Just 23 years old when he defeated Shogun, Jones became the UFC’s youngest-ever world champion. Jones has successfully defended his light heavyweight title in a division-record eight consecutive fights. He’s also finished nine opponents by either knockout or submission, passing Chuck Liddell for most finishes in light heavyweight history.

About Daniel Cormier

It took him two tries, but Daniel Cormier can finally call himself the UFC’s light heavyweight champion – a title he earned through perseverance, hard work and a refusal to accept no for an answer.

When Jon Jones was suspended indefinitely and stripped of his belt in April 2015, Cormier begged UFC president Dana White for a chance to fight for the title again, despite having lost to Jones by unanimous decision in January 2015.

Cormier got a second opportunity and capitalized, using a third-round rear naked choke on Anthony Rumble Johnson at UFC 187 to claim the vacant title.
