UFC interim light heavyweight Jon Jones has a long and undistinguished history of posting unfortunate messages on his social network and then deleting them. However, last week division champion Daniel Cormier and challenger Anthony Johnson. who fight at UFC 206, tweeted that Jones was irrelevant. ‘Bones’ fought back.

It was pretty fun until it wasn’t. Twitter user Gina G made a crude joke.

Her profile references herself as an “MMA fan, Cagewriter contributor, Recovering drug addict.” Jones apparently read that and then, she alleges, sent her a direct message.

You offer recovering drug attic’s to to hit you up for help in your bio yet you write me cocaine jokes.. You are a sad and confused little bitch who probably have some serious daddy issues,” wrote Jones, allegedly. “Enjoy your $10 sweaters from thrift stores you pathetic little girl. You are the definition of trash.”

It is not the first time Jones is alleged to have sent a harsh message to a detractor on his social network.

“Every town has those fat white b***es that hood n****s love to hit but one actually wants to get pregnant,” Jones allegedly wrote previously. “Lol yea that’s you. I don’t know you but I would bet $1 million your babies daddy wants nothing to do with you. I bet another millions the day you told him you was pregnant was probably the worst day of his life. You take time out of your day to harass me, I click on your profile only to realize youre a f***ing cow. How in the hell does a sloppy piece of s*** like you find the audacity to harass someone like me?”

After Jones allegedly sent homophobic messages to a follower, it was reported that his phone was stolen. Maybe Jones’ phone gets stolen a lot. Or maybe he should stay off the internet.

Most recently, he took to Twitter to offer remarks about performance enhancing drugs, after several contenders said in various ways that his legacy was tainted by the flagged test.

In July Jones was pulled from a UFC 200 unification fight with division champion Daniel Cormier over a flagged test. He faces a USADA hearing on October 31, and a Nevada Athletic Commission hearing on November 10.

However, Jones tested not for a PED but for Hydroxy-clomiphene and Letrozole, two estrogen blockers that are sometimes used following a cycle of steroids. USADA categorizes these as specified substances, due to the greater likelihood of a credible non-doping explanation for a test failure. Further, it is widely believed that the failed test was due to contaminated generic Cialis.

As such, Jones could be back and able to make his case in the Octagon by early January.he fighter is by many accounts a warm, helpful, and amiable presence in the gym.

The fighter is by many accounts a warm, helpful, and amiable presence in the gym. And he styles himself as a lion. But lions don’t make fun of recovering addicts’ threadbare clothing. He is likely the best fighter in mixed martial arts history but does not enjoy a commensurate fanbase. There is little question that he would be better served by staying off his social network and letting his skill do the talking in the Octagon.
