Jon Jones arrested for probation violation
Today it was revealed that the citations were enough for a judge to issue a warrant for his arrest and Jones turned himself into Albuquerque police today

Yesterday news broke that former UFC champion Jon Jones was pulled over and issued five traffic citations including drag racing. Today it was revealed that the citations were enough for a judge to issue a warrant for his arrest and Jones turned himself into Albuquerque police today.
Jon Jones was booked in New Mexico for violating his probation moments ago — and posed for a brand new mug shot after turning himself in … TMZ Sports has learned.
We’re told a judge had issued a warrant for the UFC star’s arrest for violating the terms of his probation after he was cited for drag racing in Albuquerque last week.
Jones was sentenced to probation last year after being convicted in a hit and run case in which the UFC star crashed into a pregnant woman’s car and then ran from the scene on foot.

The exchange between the police officer and Jones was also caught on film. Jone’s later apologized for the language he used when speaking to the officer:
Jones is currently scheduled to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23rd for the light heavyweight title. There has been no official statement from the UFC on the matter and no news as to whether these recent legal issues will prevent him from competing or not.
About Jon Jones
Quick Rise Jones entered the UFC in August 2008 on a few weeks’ notice, won, and was rewarded with bouts against future Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar and a UFC 100 spot against Jake O’Brien. Near effortless wins over veterans Brandon Vera and Vladimir Matyushenko followed before he dominated previously-unbeaten Ryan Bader at UFC 126. Jones’ only loss came at when a poor referee call resulted in a disqualification loss to Matt Hamill, in a fight he was by all accounts winning soundly.
Title Shot After his UFC 126 win, while still inside the Octagon, Jones was offered the chance to step in for injured teammate Rashad Evans to face light heavyweight champ Shogun Rua on six weeks’ notice. Jones accepted and went on to dominate Rua as well as his subsequent opponents: Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans and Vitor Belfort.
King Among Kings Just 23 years old when he defeated Shogun, Jones became the UFC’s youngest-ever world champion. Jones has successfully defended his light heavyweight title in a division-record eight consecutive fights. He’s also finished nine opponents by either knockout or submission, passing Chuck Liddell for most finishes in light heavyweight history.
