The story of JoJo Calderwood and the homeless unknown comic

UFC 203 was a long, strange trip, with a main event that made you scream HOLY F@$%ING $#!@, a muddled co-main, and a fight scrapped due to a falling elevator, among other oddities.
It had a tiny story, too, that was compelling in its way.
Prior to the event, strawweight JoJo Calderwood and friend UFC flyweight Zach Makovsky were walking around Cleveland, when they met a homeless man named Robert Butler. Charmed by his wit, Calderwood left a ticket to the fights for him.
Although Badmofo JoJo lost to Jessica Andrade via guillotine late in the first, she was moved to find a note for her at the fighters hotel.
Dearest Jovon,
Although you lost the fight you will always be a winner in life!
You are a rare and unique person. Kind, sweet and nonjudgemental. I wish you well in all that you do. I will never forget you!
Yours truly,
Robert Butler

“P.S. I didn’t have the heart to correct him and I kinda like the name Jovon (sounds like Joanne).”

Calderwood already has some colorful fight names, including Dr. Kneevil, The Whispering Assassin, Cyborginho, and Badmofo JoJo. Jovon is a sweet addition to the list.
