Anthony Johnson crushed Ryan Bader in 86 seconds at UFC on FOX 18 on Saturday night, and likely secured a title shot at the winner of current champion Daniel Cormier vs. returning former champ Jon Jones. It was Johnson’s 10th KO in the UFC, which makes him tied for 3rd place in the leagues’ history.

UFC VP for PR Dave Sholler told Mike Bohn for MMAjunkie that the date for Cormier vs. Jones would released in a few days. So Johnson’s choice is to wait. But if another fight was offered, he’d likely take that payday too.

That’s the biggest fight of my life, said Johnson. They want to make me wait that long? I definitely would do it. It gives me plenty of time for me to get ready for whoever.

(And) if somebody gets hurt and they need a replacement, I’ll definitely jump in if I’m healthy and able to fight.

I’m so confident in my hands that I really don’t people that not many people can withstand the power that I have. I don’t actually go out there to knock people out. They just happen to be in the way when I throw a punch.

Jon (Jones) and I will fight one day. We have mutual respect for each other. We’ve never talked trash about each other, every time we see each other we show each other love. Especially with the media and everything hyping up a fight between him and I. I was supposed to be the guy to knock him out and beat him and all that other stuff.

I think we definitely want to challenge each other and see what we’re made of. We’re just two guys, two alpha-males like that that are just competitive.

Bottom line though, is that Anthony Johnson is here to fight.

Yeah (I would take another fight) – that’s a paycheck, said Johnson on the FS2 post-fight show. I just want to wait until Jon and ‘DC’ fight then I’ll think about what’s next. Because in this game they can tell you that you have the next title shot and three or four months later, six months later, you’re not fighting for a title.
