Tonight at UFC 216, Demetrious Johnson cemented his legacy by defending his UFC Flyweight title for a record 10th time by submitting Ray Borg in the 5th round.
Johnson was well on his way to winning a decision, but instead pulled off what is probably the most impressive submission in UFC title history. With back control in a standing position, Johnson suplexed Borg and transitioned to an arm lock before his opponent landed. Borg tried to resist the submission, but was eventually forced to submit with 1:45 left in the last round.
Official Result: Demetrious Johnson defeated Ray Borg by Submission (Armbar, Round 5, 3:15)
Demetrious Johnson stands alone in UFC history.
The longtime UFC flyweight champion defeated Ray Borg on Saturday night in the co-feature bout of UFC 216.
Johnson ragdolled Borg for the better part of five rounds before a spectacular finish Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas: Johnson went to suplex Borg, then transitioned mid-air to an armbar for a submission victory. The time of the finish was 3:15 the fifth round.

That marked the 11th successful title defense for the Washington state native, surpassing former middleweight champion Anderson Silva’s previous mark of 10. Johnson is now considered by many to be the greatest fighter in mixed martial arts history.
