Top podcaster and longtime UFC pundit Joe Rogan has been raving about this past weekend’s muay Thai action in ONE Championship.
In the historic main event of ONE Friday Fights 34 on September 22, ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 took a close but unanimous decision win over flyweight muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a non-title catchweight tilt.
And, after the epic three-round battle came to an end, Rogan took to Instagram to pump up the potential of muay Thai in the West.
“I completely agree with Matt Brown. Out of all the combat sports out there Muay Thai has the biggest untapped potential in the western world. The talent is there, the excitement is off the charts. I think it’s just going to take the right organization with deep pockets to make it as huge as it deserves to be over here. Absolutely amazing fight between two masters of the art at @onechampionship!” Rogan posted.

Rogan’s glowing endorsement for “the art of eight limbs” came on the heels of a post by UFC veteran Matt Brown.
In the moments following Rodtang vs. Superlek, “The Immortal” couldn’t hide his enthusiasm, and he heaped praise on both Thai megastars.
“HOW is Muay Thai not the biggest sport in the world?!?! You rather watch football? Or soccer? I don’t get it. Respect to these killers @rodtang_jimungnon and @superlek789 thanks for an amazing fight!” he wrote on Instagram.
ONE has taken the Thai sport to a whole new level in recent years.
With a global platform and an innovative ruleset, muay Thai has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity within Thailand and across the globe.
ONE Friday Fights 34 will go down as one of the most important cards in the striking art’s history. And with the main event living up to its billing, muay Thai will undoubtedly see its popularity reach even further as ONE continues to push it to the masses.
