Jedrzejczyk, Gadelha to coach TUF 23, fight July 8

UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha will be the opposing coaches on TUF 23 and will fight on July 8.

Thanks to UGer Card for breaking the news on the site Friday that UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha will be the opposing coaches for the 23rd season on The Ultimate Fightter, and will fight on July 8. The news was originally broken by Brazilian media giant Globo.

Late Sunday night, the news became official.

Set your DVR, season premiere April 20th! 

The pair will fight not in a PPV, as is typical of TUF coaches, but will headline The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale on July 8, during International Fight Week. The week will culminate with UFC 200.

Jedrzejczyk beta Gadelha by split decision at UFC on Fox: dos Santos vs. Miocic on December 13, 2014. That got Jedrzejczyk a title shot, which he won vs. Carla Esparza, and defended vs. Jessica Penne and Valerie Letourneau.

Injuries has slowed Gadelha since. She beat Jessica Aguilar at UFC 190 on 1 August 2015, earning a title shot at UFC 195, but was injured.
