UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is now the second most tenured belt holder in the UFC, after Demetrious Johnson. She defends her title again, vs. Jessica Andrade, in the main event of UFC 211 on May 13, 2017 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Jedrzejczyk’s intensity comes out during faceoffs, when she often uniquely gets in her opponent’s face. In a recent interview with the UFC, she explained why.

“I’m really fighter in my life,” she said charmingly. “I’m a really competitor. It’s MMA. When we face off with our opponent, we cannot just stand back. We must show who we really are.

“I’m very easy going person. I’m very nice person. But most of the people, they only know me from the fight weeks. From the fights, when like Beast Mode on. But it’s my job. And I’m trying to be 100%. I’m very professional about it. So I cannot let my opponents get into my head.

“I’m very confident before every fight, but I’m very humble as well. I know my value.”
