The Dec. 17 card is expected to feature a lightweight title fight between champion Gilbert Melendez and Jorge Masvidal.
Jardine, who’s perhaps best known for his appearance on “The Ultimate Fighter 2” and subsequent 12-fight stint in the UFC, hasn’t competed since an April draw with light heavyweight Gegard Mousasi at “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley.” Jardine took the fight on late notice as a replacement for injured Mike Kyle, and his status with the organization wasn’t clear after the fight.
