A lot of creative people and fans have long criticized the UFC for it’s lack of creativity in the design of it’s event posters. With the expansion of their product into international markets, often local graphics companies are hired to do the marketing and design posters, as the would better know what appeals to people and culture of the land.

Today, the poster for UFC 144, which marks the UFC’s modern return to Japan, was released, and even hardcore fans are touting the poster as ‘epic’:

This is the second time that another team in charge of the poster other than the UFC in-house creative team has seen praise for their effforts. In August of 2011, the UFC traveled to Rio de Janeiro Brazil for it’s modern day return to Brazil. The UFC 134 poster that was made for the Brazilian audience received a lot of praise over that of the one for the American audience:
