Is DaDa 5000 the King of the Streets?

DaDa 5000/Dhafir Harris fights Kimbo Slice/Kevin Ferguson at Bellator 149 on February 19 in Houston, Texas. Slice came to fame via bareknuckle boxing matches in backyards in Miami. DaDa was the subject of the documentary Dawg Fight, that chronicled his promotion of these unregulated bouts.

DaDa believes he will be authentically representing the streets of Miami in the fight, and that Slice has abandoned them.

“He’s a seven-figure n***** that moved in with the white folks,” said DaDa to Dave Doyle for MMAFighting.com.

“People is just focused and disappointed that you never came back. That was the thing. You never came back. You know there’s people suffering inside of the city. You know? You know what needs to be done. That’s why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The majority of the celebrities never have to pay for anything, hardly ever. They get caught doing a lot of stuff. So why don’t you use your black star power like I use it and go get toys for the kids this December? Get turkeys for the community, put a smile on people’s face.”

Ferguson says he has moved on.

“I don’t care what he has to say about the community and what he do,” said Slice. “I’m a family man. I got a wife. I got six kids. The goal when you’re a kid is to move up and out of the hood. And that’s just the goal for anybody who has an opportunity to make it on any level. From basketball to skating to f***ing football playing to baseball playing, your goal is to make it out of the hood.”

“For him to say I don’t represent the hood, I have no f***ing reason to go back to my old neighborhood, my friends ain’t down there. My true friends are successful. They have grew up, and grew out of the hood. I f*** with them on the outside of the hood. The new people that are up in the hood now? I know of you, but I don’t f*** with you like that. It ain’t like we were buddies, and we were drinking beer and hanging out. If that was the case, I’d still be in the hood. You know what I’m saying? That ain’t my thing no more. I’ve got a family now.”

“He think’s he’s the people’s champ, the hood’s with him. I don’t give a f*** about that. You need to be concentrating on what I’m saying to you. I am going to try to f*** you up. I have the ability to do it, You’re worrying about the wrong s***. … Split him, slice him up, break his jaw real quick. If he falls down with his arms all stiff like I’m predicting he will, I’m going to go for an armbar so quick, I’m going to try to break it before the refs pulls me off him.”
