Invicta signs four flyweights, plus a return
Invicta FC recently signed flyweights Aspen Ladd, Sharon Jacobson, Mariana Morais, and Emily Corso, and announced the return of strawweight Lynn Alvarez.
Invicta Fighting Championships recently signed four new flyweights:
•Aspen Ladd, 19: blog on signing.
•Sharon Jacobson, 31, U.S. Nationals wrestling champion and Army Combatives competitor.
•Mariana Morais, 19, fighter from Brazil on a four-fight win streak.
•Emily Corso, 26, undefeated pro (4-0) after going 9-1 as an amateur.
“Signing with Invicta is something that all female fighters look forward to,” said Morais. “Invicta is the pinnacle of female MMA and the main outlet for female talent growth in the sport. This is my chance to show that I’m ready to fight among the best fighters in the world.”
The promotion also announced the return of a strawweight:
•Lynn “Lights Out” Alvarez, 29, career wins include Michelle Ould and “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson. and Ould
“I’m excited to be back with Invicta,” said Alvarez. “They’re doing amazing things for women’s MMA and treat their fighters right. I can’t wait to fight for them and earn my way to their 115-pound title.”
