Hunt: I took my beating like a man
Mark Hunt: “It was a hard night in the office, but I took the beating like a man. I got caught fighting with my energy levels down.”

UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt, 41, has been fighting for 17 years, as a boxer, kickboxer, and mixed martial artist. On Saturday at UFC Fight Night 65, Hunt endured a one-sided beating at the hands of Stipe Miocic. When asked by the ref if he wanted to stop. Hunt only chuckled.
In an interview with New Zealand’s 3News, Hunt discussed the fight.
“It was a hard night in the office, but I took the beating like a man,” he said.
“I got caught fighting with my energy levels down and you can’t make this mistake at the top level.”
“We always get a bad rap about our sport, but sometimes it just happens with fighting.
“There is nothing wrong with me, I just look bad. The UFC look after you really well, checking you up, but I’m good.
“It’s not an easy way to make a living, it was a hard night at the office, but I accept my outcome as a fighter.”
Hunt says he’ll be back in training in “three or four weeks’ time” once the swelling goes down.
