UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes was recently interviewed by Germany’s GroundandPound.de and was asked what it would take to get him back for one more fight.

“For Dana White to say ‘come back,” replied Hughes. “That’s all it would take, is a phone call from Dana, and I would be back! I’m a little old, I’m 41 years old. I’d have to be careful with my opponent. But I’m still a competitor and I’d love to get in there.”

Hughes was asked if there was someone he would like to get into the Octagon.

“Matt Serra and I had a good match this last time, and we’ve got our differences,” said Hughes. “So he’s been asking for a rematch foreve,r and I’d give it to him if he wanted it.”

Although Hughes is game to return, he things former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is done for good.

“Georges last fight, he had a fight against Johny (Hendricks),” began Hughes. “A lot of people thought the lost that fight. I can’t see GSP coming back. The sport’s kind of caught up to him a little bit and everybody gets old. As I can say that, and you’re just not what you’re used to be. Why would Georges come back and face one of these younger guys that are gunning for him? Georges took a lot of punishment in that last fight of his. And why would he come back to take that punishment, when he’s made probably more money than anybody in the UFC? So he’s got to be doing good there. He’s doing a little acting and this and that, so I just don’t see why he’d come back.”

Lastly Hughes was asked what he is doing with his time, now that he is not competing any more.

“I’m always competing,” said Hughes. “I hunt a lot. And hunting is a huge competitor thing. Me against some animal. So I hunt a lot. I work on the farm a lot. Raise my family. I still work for the UFC, so I travel to a lot of events.

“Life’s good for Matt Hughes right now.”

While Hughes is enjoying life on the farm, and hunting in the bush, Matt “The Terror” Serra has been building what is becoming one of the greatest teams in the country – Serra-Longo. Serra

Right now I’m focused on cornering Aljamain Sterling & Truck Gordon on sat night!,” he tweeted. “It’s their time to shine!”
