Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino made $90,000 for the 40 plus seconds it took her to stop challenger Charmaine Tweet at Invicta FC 11 on Friday. $2,000 per second sounds like remarkable compensation, but in her latest, and highly-compelling, multi-media blog Cris details all the work that goes into a modern fight camp.

First I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to bring attention to him with my athletic performance at Invicta FC 11. For those of you who missed my fight against Top 10 ranked Featherweight Charmaine Tweet last weekend, I won in dominate fashion in only 46 seconds, check the fight out on UFC FIGHT PASS!

While many people will see my performance in the cage and give me all the credit for the victory, there are many on #TeamCyborg who contributed to the win, and deserve recognition.

First I would like to thank my lawyer George Prajin for sticking by my side during the good and bad times. I know how the Dragon can be leading up to a fight, KKKKKK!! George has supported me tremendously and made my move from San Diego to Huntington Beach possible. He helped me considerably with the logistics of establishing the resources needed to organize a professional training camp as I prepared to defend my World Title last week, and was a major part of my performance!

Once the specifics of how I was going to put myself in a position to train full time for this bout were organized, it then came down to the specifics of training, and my coaches to help prepare my strategy.

UFC and Bellator veteran Robert Emerson was one of my main training partners, who along with Top UFC Diet Coach George Lockhart helped me not only get in shape, but make 145lbs feeling strong and powerful. Coach Lockhart organized a great nutritional program for me, and we are going to continue working together as I attempt to lose weight to make the fight everyone has been asking to see. While Lockhart is one of the leading MMA nutritionist, he also works with everyday people simply looking to improve the quality of their living, and I recommend anyone looking to get their diet under control to review his website and nutritional plans online!

Following an extensive Scouting Report organized by MMA Trainer Ray Elbe who watched in detail every available fight for Charmaine Tweet, each of my coaches developed specialized training sessions for me to achieve maximum performance the night of the fight.

For my wrestling program I got an opportunity to train with coach Jacob Harman of the renown Church Boyz Wrestling program Coach Jacob is one of the top wrestling coaches in the world and besides working with sensations like Aaron Pico, has helped BJJ players like Buchecha and MMA stars like Josh Barnett prepare for their competitions. I am very blessed to have an opportunity to receive such high level instruction.

knowing Charmaine Tweet won most of her fights via submission, my team knew the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu aspect of camp was going to be very important. Professor Galvao and all of the guys at Atos in San Diego have helped me prepare, in addition to working with legendary Cobrinha. While working with Arthur Estrazulas evenings at Tito Ortiz’s TEAM PUNISHMENT Gym, we dedicated many hours to making sure my triangle and guillotine choke defenses were flawless.

Boxing and Fitness for this training camp started in San Diego with the coaches Vince, Ernesto and Andy of The Arena MMA before finishing camp with Orange County’s top boxing instructor Jason Parillo at the famous RVCA facility. Mixing in Muay Thai training with Robert Emerson, Marco Ruas’s first American Black Belt, my striking felt fast, powerful, and accurate for this performance.

Anyone who trains in Combat Sports knows the damage our bodies take during training camp, and having to recover from a previous injury, I had to make sure I was allowing for Rehab/Recovery sessions with my coaches. Leading up to this fight I worked with leading Physiotherapist/Personal trainer Ivan Carmosino, who has been with me since my days in Brazil. I was also fortunate enough to have Steve Hanoian help open up my nerve and pathways throughout the camp and prior to my fight. A new form of rehab treatment that I brought into this camp with Cryotheraphy thanks to the amazing IceLab in Orange County.

For the night of the fight, I was blessed to have longtime friends UFC Interim HW Champion Fabricio Werdum and former Strikeforce LHW Champion Renato ‘Babalu’ Sobral help warm me up and prepare me for battle.

In addition to all of the coaches and training partners, I want to thank F4Studios for the amazing custom Team Cyborg warm ups and fight materials! Fermin Guerrero makes the best when it comes to custom Combat Sports gear!

besides F4Studios, I would also like to thank my other sponsors; Dragon Clothing, ResortShare, Brutal Gear Clothing, Mouthex Sports Safety, Prime Esportes, Phuket Top Team, Bana Nutrition, Do or Die Clothing, Laura Reis, Protein House, and the Homeless Animal Rescue Project, and Professor Cleber Luciano for their support. Anybody I forgot to mention, please realize it was an accident, and I am grateful for your support.

#TeamCyborg already has the next date of my fight, which will be July 10th in Las Vegas. Friends, Family, and Fans, I expect to see everyone at this fight, it is UFC Fan Expo weekend, and I am going to be making a statement of violence with this fight, thank you again Shannon Knapp, and Lorenzo Fertitta for believing in my abilities and giving me the stage to showcase my talents!
