MMASucka – Were you surprised by the split decision? A lot of people had actually scored that fight 30-27 including MMASucka.com..obviously the judges saw something completely different…
Hominick – I could see 29-28 with maybe some of the judges giving him the first round just because of his aggression, but there is no way that I would have lost on one of the score cards. I rewatched the fight and there is no way that I could see. I had him backing up the whole fight and if you look at the punch count he probably missed 8 out of 10 punches. It is my own fault, I mean anytime you go to the judges you don’t know what fight they are watching so it’s a lesson learned for myself.
MMASucka – Anything about MMA Judging that drives you nuts?
Hominick – No, because it’s a very tough sport to call. If you look at boxing you’re looking at two weapons, but with MMA there are so many different elements to the game. It is a tough sport just like reffing, a lot of people come down on the referees, but it is a tough job. It’s not the judges I think it’s just the criteria they are put under.
