Only George Roop (11-6-1 MMA, 1-1-1 WEC) stands between Mark Hominick (19-8 MMA, 3-2 WEC) and UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo.
UFC president Dana White today confirmed a report this week on Sportsnet’s “MMA Connected” that Hominick next will meet Aldo (18-1 MMA, 8-0 WEC) at UFC 129 if he can best Roop next Saturday at “UFC Fight Night 23: Fight for the Troops 2.”
UFC 129, which takes place April 30 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, will host the possible matchup, added White.

Canadian UFC mouthpiece Joe Ferraro says this fight is expected to be booked for the featherweight title if Hominick beats George Roop on the 22nd
