Knowing what a fast starter Garcia tends to be, Hominick sat back and waited for the Texas native to throw punch after punch in the first round, while he used superior footwork and head movement to avoid anything serious landing.
As the fight wore on, Hominick’s plan paid off as Garcia started to lose just a little bit of steam, and the Canadian was able to land his jab at will throughout the remainder of the time.
To Garcia’s credit, he fought a smart strategy and never got into a serious brawl with Hominick, but unfortunately he didn’t have an answer to his opponent’s controlled boxing attack. Hominick punished Garcia with his jab, and then answered the Greg Jackson trained fighter’s aggression with perfectly timed counter strikes.
