HOLY F@$%ING $#!*
Lorenzo Fertitta, at the time the co-owner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, was once asked by The Atlantic magazine to explain what makes mixed martial arts so compelling. He said it came down to three words, two of which aren’t fit for print.
The Holy F***ing S*** factor.’ It happens at every fight,” he said. “At least one or two times in every show, whether you say it out loud or you say it to yourself, you go, ‘Holy S*** did that just happen?’ I mean, you might see somebody do a flip, get kicked in the head, get knocked out with a punch. At some point, you’re going ‘whoah, did that just happen? Did I really just see that?’ That’s the nucleus of what our product is.
MixedMartialArts.com scours the sport to find those HOLY F@$%ING S#!* moments from across the globe. Some say this is the greatest knockout in combat sports history.
Jungle Doctor delivers the best KO of all time?
On Nov 1, 2014, in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, world-ranked Muay Thai fighter Jonathan “Jungle Doctor” Tuhu took on a much larger opponent. And by much larger, we mean a full foot taller and clearly in a weight class far above his own.
However, as the famous quote goes, it’s not about the size of the dog in the fight, it’s about the size of the fight in the dog. Tuhu uses his speed advantage, and dangerously trades back and forth with his much larger opponent. He has to survive a couple of scary kicks and solid knees before it happens.
Tuhu leaps and spins a full 360 degrees, delivering a round kick to his Goliath-sized opponent, who then drops in startling fashion, as if a rock of biblical proportion just struck him center forehead.
About Jonathan Tuhu
Tuhu, 5′ 7″ and 143 lbs (170cm, 65kg) was at the time a protege of Woolloongabba, Brisbane, Queensland’s famed Staunch Top Team. Today he trains primarily at Phuket Top Team. Further, at the time of the KO, his ring name was “Jungle Doctor”. However, he is known today as “The Black & Gold”.
