On UFC.com’s latest The Download with Dana White, the UFC president expressed surprise at the low ranking.

In my opinion, he’s lost a couple of the best years of his career because of what was done to him over there. We’re weeks away from finding out where he sits.
Alvarez makes his UFC debut vs. a surging Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 178 on September 27, 2014, live on PPV. Alvarez is a slight underdog in the fight with the #5 ranked lightweight (Donald Cerrone: -115; Eddie Alvarez: -105).
