The #5 ranked UFC featherweight Max Holloway recently did a periscope, and said a UFC event in Hawaii would likely bring BJ Penn out of retirement. The former UFC lightweight welterweight champ and UFC Hall of Famer has not fought since losing to Frankie Edgar in July of 2014.

“Heard Dana White talking about UFC Hawaii,” said Holloway. “And I heard he said it was already on the agenda, and just needed to get over some obstacles. So that’s great!

Irritate Dana White enough that I think he’s going to be ‘You know what, screw this, we’re going to Hawaii.’ So BJ Penn said, he said man, if UFC ever came to Hawaii he would come out of retirement for a last one. So you guys might just get your wish, and see the legend back in action.

“I think he needs to fight at his true weight though, at 155. Just because he can make the weight, doesn’t mean he should. So give BJ one last fight and that would be great, I think.”

Penn has fought at featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, and heavyweight.
