Dan Henderson’s Muay Thai coach, Daniel Woirin told Tatame.com that Hendo is holding out for a title shot, and that if he gets a rematch with Jon Jones, there are flaws in Jones’ game that can be expoilted.

With his age it’s best to wait for a title shot,” Woirin said. “He got that chance, which is pretty hard to get, so it’s best to way. There’s no problem.”

Thus Woirin thinks Henderson will face the winner of Jon Jones vs challenger Rashad Evans, a fight the Frenchman thinks will go the champion.

I guess Jon Jones wins this one. They know each other pretty well, actually, but it won’t change much. Jones is a best striker, much taller, a complicated guy to fight against … Rashad hasn’t shown great stand-up skills, he’s no good in comparison to Jones.”

Woirin however thinks Hendo’s skills stack up okay vs. Jones.

It would be complicated actually. It’s hard because the guy is tall, but we’re not getting there to lose. He’ll find Jones during the fight.”

I’ve watched the fight between Jones and Lyoto and I could see some flaws on his stand-up. He’s tall, uses his reach, but he’s not that good technically. Lyoto showed us some of his weak points … It would be a hard fight between Dan and Lyoto because the guy moves a lot. Jones had some trouble finding Lyoto.”

Many feel Hendo’s losing effort vs Anderson Silva offers a picture of how the Jones fight would go, but Woirin disagrees.

With Anderson was a different division, it was different… It’s true Dan is not very comfortable when the guy moves a lot and kicks a lot too, but I guess he didn’t have the proper training back then.

Jones might display some weapons on the stand-up, but the secret is to be patient. You can do like he did against Anderson … Dan has great counter-attack and it could make a difference. It’s going to be a puzzle, but it’ll work.
