Hendo hopes to fight this year, possibly at middleweight

Dan Henderson’s Muay Thai coach Daniel Woirin spoke with Guilherme Cruz recently, and said that Hendo hopes to fight again before the end of the year, and at middleweight. Henderson’s last fight, a losing effort vs. Daniel Cormier at light heavyweight, saw him weigh in at just 199; his opponent was in all likelihood well over 220 by fight time.
However, Henderson said the return will not necessarily be at 185.
“It’s funny how rumors get started,” tweeted Hendo. “If you have read that I will be returning to middle weight. Not true, but always a possibility.”
Hendo returned to the UFC as a light heavyweight in 2011, but went only 2-4, with both wins against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. The first fight was one of the best in the history of the entire sport.
Henderson’s last fight in the UFC at middleweight was at UFC 100, vs. Michael Bisping, and produced one of the best knockouts in the history of the entire sport.
