Hendo: Could be my last fight, depends how I feel
Dan Henderson: “It’s a possibility I’ll be retiring soon. I don’t know – maybe after two or three more. Or maybe this is the last one. I have no idea. It all depends on how I feel after this fight.”

In November of 2013, prior to his UFC Fight Night 32 rematch with Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson told MMAJunkie that he was not going to retire after the fight.
“I’ve never, ever said I was going to stop fighting,” said Henderson, who had never been knocked out at the time. “Win or lose, I’m still going to fight.”
“I feel good and I know I’m able to compete with the top guys in the sport. I’m thinking it will be at least two years before I talk about retiring.”
Henderson expanded on the retirement remarks in an interview with MMAFighting.
“At least five fights,” said Henderson. “We’ll see what happens, but my body is feeling good. As long as I can get that going, I’ll be fine. But I don’t see myself fighting for more than five or six fights.”
Henderson got knocked out for the first time in that fight. He has gone 2-3 since, losing two more by T/KO. At UFC on FOX 19 on April 16, 2016 Hendo fights for the sixth time since he talked retirement in 2013, vs. Lyoto Machida. He is now 45 years old, the oldest fighter in the UFC.
This is the last fight on Henderson’s contract, and in an interview with MMAjunkie, he said this could even be his last fight.
It’s a possibility I’ll be retiring soon, said Henderson. I don’t know – maybe after two or three more. Or maybe this is the last one. I have no idea.
It all depends on how I feel after this fight.
Henderson said he will reply on members of his team to tell when it is time to retire.
