Heath Herring and King Mo enter RIZIN tournament quarterfinals

Heavyweight Heath Herring has not fought since losing a Unanimous Decision to Brock Lesnar at UFC 87 on August 9, 2008. He was scheduled to fight Cain Velasquez at UFC 99 the next year, but withdrew with an injury. The Texas Crazy Horse never retired, he simply found better opportunities, primarily working in the film industry.

Now 38, the 2016 RIZIN grand prix has lured him back. He will be bracketed in the quarter finals, but the match up is unclear at this point. The obvious spot is vs. Mirko Coro Cop.

RIZIN holds an open-weight tournament, on December 29 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event is RIZIN 3

RIZIN 4, which will feature the semi-finals and finals, takes place just two days later on New Year’s Eve.

ROUND 1 took place on September 25, 2016, at Saitama Super Arena.
