Guillard misses weight, fight with Gaethje now non-title
For all his talk of being an A-list fighter, Guillard today failed at making weight, something most would consider an important part of being a professional fighter.

Melvin Guillard has stirred the pot in his new home at the WSOF, first calling the promotion the B-league and later arguing with the league’s Vice-President on a media call. For all his talk of being an A-list fighter, Guillard today failed at making weight, something most would consider an important part of being a professional fighter:
Justin Gaethje and and Melvin Guillard will still meet in the co-main event of World Series of Fighting 15, but Gaethje’s WSOF lightweight title will not be on the line.
Guillard weighed in at 158.8 Friday for Saturday night’s fight in Tampa, nearly four pounds over the championship limit. After coming up at 158.6 in his second attempt, Guillard gave up on the weight cut.
Guillard will now fight Justin Gaethje at a catchweight of 159 lbs, in a three round non-title fight and was fined 50% of his purse.
