St. Pierre’s management team released a statement Tuesday that said the MMA fighter will not need surgery to repair the injury he suffered during UFC 100 on July 11.

“Evaluation of the results of an MRI indicate that no surgery will be required, and Georges should be back in the gym training within a few weeks after a brief rehabilitation.”

After last Saturday’s fight, St. Pierre said he snapped his abductor muscle in the third round of his unanimous decision victory over Thiago Alves.
