GSP union rumor was a troll
A French Canadian journalist spoke with GSP’s management, and the news about the former champion spearheading a union was a troll.
Rumors surfaced late last week that former UFC welterweight Georges St-Pierre had agreed to serve as ambassador for a fighters union.
The story surfaced when referee Yves Lavigne tweeted an image of a press release, and asked if it was real. The letter was from Joao Alfredo Horta and announced that the MMA Fighters Union was set to launch, and that George St-Pierre was the spokesman.
No, that was not UG Blog being UG Blog, the release really did say George St-Pierre.

Amsterdam, Netherlands – MMA Fighters Union together with it’s ambassador MMA/UFC Fighter George St-Pierre announced today that the MMA Fighters Union is launched.
MMA Fighters Union expect this launch to improve Fighters finance and widen its career base. In addition MMA Fighters Union will support fighters in their negotiations with MMA Promotions.
The launch will permit MMA Fighters use lawyers who work for MMA Fighters Union.
