Becks, 36, is worth around £160million and his salary and various sponsorship deals see him earn in excess of £26m per year.
That is far more than the £5m purse Canadian-born St-Pierre commands to headline pay-per-view events
And GSP admits he is inspired by the phenomenal global rise Beckham has enjoyed since moving to Los Angeles in 2007
He said: My goal one day is to be the David Beckham of MMA but I still have a lot to do to reach that point. Mr Beckham is a great role model and I aspire to do the same.
