The first duels between Brazilians and gringos for the next edition of the UFC in Brazil are being set. According to our partners at PVT, Gabriel Gonzaga, Diego Nunes and Yuri Marajó face international challenges on January 19 in Sao Paulo.

Gonzaga was scheduled to fight Geronimo Mondragon at UFC Rio 3, but was removed from the card after Mondragon failed his medicals. Now Napao faces veteran Ben Rothwell, who is coming off a knockout win over Brendan Schaub at UFC 145. Gonzaga is coming off a submission win over Ednaldo Lula at UFC Rio 2.

Another clash of fighters who won their last bout is Diego Nunes vs. Nik Lentz. In their last fights the Brazilian beat Bart Palaszewski at UFC on FX 5 by decison, while the American Lentz beat Eiji Mitsuoka by knockout at UFC 150.

Unlike the lst two fighters, Yuri Marajó and George Roop will be looking to recover from losses. Marajó lost his unbeaten record at UFC 147 in a decision loss to Hacran Dias. Roop comes to Brazil with a rope around his neck, as it was beaten by Hatsu Hioki and Cub Swanson in his last outings.
