Get car insurance or Clay Guida will break your stuff – behind the scenes

Resist Safe Auto Insurance Co and get your house trashed and your butt kicked.

That’s the premise of a new commercial from the minimum coverage insurer, anyway.

The Columbus-based company, which has grown its business over the years in part through memorable advertising campaigns, this time features Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Clay Guida.

While the opportunity to trash a house and put a wimp in a headlock may have ben enough to land Guida, Safe Auto also has a sponsorship agreement with the fighter, who wears the Safe Auto logo on his trunks in the octagon.

One thing that Safe Auto hopes for with spots like this is a buzz online among fans of the sport of mixed martial arts, which it sponsors.

The spot seems to have done fairly well, getting more than 29,000 YouTube views in the past month. Far fewer people, however, have watched the behind-the-scenes video of the shoot. It’s pretty funny, and Guida seems like a nice guy, despite seeming especially anxious to break stuff.
