Jens Pulver’s losing streak continues.
Pulver, the MMA fan favorite and former UFC lightweight champion who was dumped by World Extreme Cagefighting this year after losing his fifth consecutive fight, was back in the ring on Saturday night at the War on the Mainland show in Irvine, California, where the little-known Diego Garijo needed only one minute and eight seconds to force him to tap out to a guillotine choke.

Both fighters came out swinging, and 40 seconds into the first round Garijo floored Pulver with a hard left hand. Once he knocked Pulver down, Garijo pounced, sunk in the choke, and got Pulver to tap. It was a sad ending to the fight for Pulver fans — and it may be a sad ending to Pulver’s career.
