Garbrant-Dillashaw out of UFC 213, Romero-Whittaker in
The UFC 213 new co-headline will be Yoel Romero vs. Robert Whittaker for the Interim middleweight championship.

UFC president Dana White spoke recently with ESPN‘s Brett Okamoto, and announced that some big fights had been reshuffled. The Cody Garbrandt vs. TJ Dillashaw bantamweight title fight at UFC 213 on July 8 has been canceled due to Garbrandt’s back injury.
The plan is for Dillashaw to instead fight Demetrious Johnson in August.
“After his last round of treatment in Germany, they told him he’d need four weeks to rest,” said White. “That would have put him two weeks out from the fight. With Cody out, we’re going to make T.J. versus Mighty Mouse [Johnson]. That’s the plan.”
UFC 213 is headlined by champion Amanda Nunes vs. Valentina Shevchenko for the women bantamweight champion. The UFC 213 new co-headline will be Yoel Romero vs. Robert Whittaker for the Interim middleweight championship.
Romero is on an eight-fight win streak, while Whittaker has won his last six straight.
White told Okamato that he came to the decision after speaking with middleweight champion Michael Bisping earlier today. Bisping is recovering from a knee injury. The league had intended for Bisping to defend his title vs. welterweight G.O.A.T. Georges St-Pierre, but GSP said he would not be ready until after October. It is believed that GSP will now fight for the welterweight title.
