Sage Northcutt is profoundly affable in a sport of gleeful trash talkers. Before their fight on Saturday night at UFC on FOX 22, Northcutt declined to bark back at Mickey Gall, or accept his Loser Shaves Head challenge.

Gall described the back and forth conversation between two. When Gall’s eye began to bleed, Northcutt gleefully pointed it out.

He was like, ‘Ooh, that one is good,’ said Gall.

And then I got up and I’m like, ‘What are you tired?’ And he said, ‘I never get tired.’ I gotta say, I like Sage with an edge.

Gall called out CM Punk, got the fight, and won. Then he called out Sage Northcutt, got the fight, and won. This time he called out Dan Hardy. Time will tell if it works, but there is a pattern forming.

And at least Sage didn’t accept the bet.
