Gadelha: I won’t be Miesha Tated
Claudia Gadelha at UFC media event: “I spoke with Sean (Shelby) and he told me in English, ‘I don’t wanna Miesha Tate you’”

A verb was born recently in Sao Paulo.
Top strawweight Claudia Gadelha spoke with media and said she was told by UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby he didn’t want to ‘Miesha Tate’ her. Tate of course was told she would get a trilogy fight with bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, but the company later decided that Holly Holm made more sense.

“I wanted to fight this year, but I decided to wait because the UFC wants me to fight in February,” said Gadelha to Guilherme Cruz for MMA Fighting. “They gave me this date. I’ll be in Australia next week for Joanna vs. Valerie and they told me whoever wins will be my next opponent.”
“I think Joanna wins the fight. Valerie is too heavy. I’ve fought her at 135 pounds and she was at 155 on the night of the fight, while I was at 134. She’s too big for the division and cuts a lot of weight and loses performance because of that. I believe Joanna wins.”
“I spoke with Sean and he told me in English, ‘I don’t wanna Miesha Tate you’. My case is totally different than Miesha’s because she lost twice and they don’t want to do a third fight, and my fight with Joanna was different. She didn’t finish me, and she wants this fight too. It’s completely different. I believe this fight will happen now.”
Joanna Jedrzejczyk fights Valerie Letourneau in the co-main event of UFC 193 on November 15, 2015 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Gadelha is on deck, and doesn’t look like she will get Miesha Tated. Rousey fights Holm in the main.
