Following a loss to Brendan Schaub this past weekend, at UFC 121, heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga has been served his walking papers from the UFC.
Gonzaga announced the news on this twitter, Official now – Out of UFC – Thanks for all your support – back to normal life and BJJ forever.
The 31-year-old, who trains out of Ludlow at Team Link, endured a successful run in the UFC which peaked with a title fight against Randy Couture at UFC 74. Gonzaga made his UFC debut in 2006 and went 7-5 in the world’s top MMA promotion.
He was, however, only 1-3 in his past four fights dropping consecutive bouts to Schuab and Junior dos Santos.
