Jordan Parsons was a promising professional MMA fighter, training at Blackzilians, and fighting in Bellator MMA. Then on May 1 at 12:33 a.m. he was hit by an SUV, and the driver sped away. Parsons passed away from the injuries sustained, after several days in the hospital.

28-year-old Boca Raton resident Dennis Wright was arrested, and is being held on $450,000 bond. Wright’s license had been suspended six times, and was suspended for five years in September. He has been cited six times for failing to pay traffic fines and twelve times for failing to appear on a traffic summons. His criminal history includes at least nine previous arrests for DUI, disorderly intoxication, and assault on an officer or firefighter, among other charges. In short, Dennis Wright is a world-class POS.

Now Adam Sacasa for the Sun Sentinel reports a tipster led police to a friend of Wright’s, who allegedly pleaded with him not to drive that night, while at Buddha Sky Bar, on Delray Beach.

“No, I can drive,” he reportedly replied.

Then Wright got into his mother’s Range Rover, and his friends got into a black 2014 Mercedes-Benz. The Range Rover then reportedly passed the Mercedes at 100-120 MPH.

Shortly afterwards Wright struck Parsons so hard his leg was severed. Neither vehicle stopped.

Wright arrived home 10 minutes later, and posted about the crash on Instagram, upsetting his friend. Wright later tried to have the damage repaired at a local body shop, but the shop owner refused, realizing the vehicle had been involved in the fatal hit and run. Wright then hid the vehicle at a storage facility.

Authorities ask anyone who has information about Wright’s whereabouts that night to call Officer Ron Brown or Sgt. Jeffrey Rasor at 561.243.7800.
