Invicta FC 30: Frey vs. Grusander on July 21, at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri will be headlined by a fight between Jinh Yu Frey and Minna Grusander for the vacant atomweight title.
Ayaka Hamasaki won the atomweight belt at Invicta FC 13 on July 9, 2015 with a win over Amber Brown. She successfully defended it twice, vs. Amber Brown at Invicta FC 16 on March 11, 2016, and vs. Jinh Yu Frey at Invicta FC 19 on September 23, 2016. On July 15, 2017 she vacated the belt to focus on the strawweight division and has signed with RIZIN.
Frey bounced back from the loss to Hamasaki with a unanimous decision win over Ashley Cummins at Invicta FC 24: Dudieva vs. Borella on July 15, 2017. She then lost via TKO in Round 1 to Seo Hee Ham for the Road FC atomweight championship.
Finland’s ‘Brutsku’ Grusander fights out of the legendary FinnFighters gym, and is on a four-fight win streak, most recently a Round 2 KO/TKO over Fernanda Priscila Invicta FC 28: Inoue vs. Jandiroba.
