Free fight: Latest Loman vs. Mlambo Brave title defense

Brave Combat Federation has released Friday’s historic Stephen Loman vs. Frans Mlambo main event bantamweight title defense at Brave 13: Europe Evolution. Loman became the youngest champion in Brave Combat Federation to defend his championship, at age 23. This rematch is being called as a milestone in the history of MMA in the Philippines.

Loman has fought three times in Brave, going 3-0. He trains at the fabled Team Lakay which also features Brave fighters Crisanto Pitpitunge, Jeremy Pacatiw, Jomar Pa-ac. The gallant Mlambo is the 2015 IMMAF Gold Medalist and a vegan.

In other Brave news, 2017 IMMAF welterweight gold medalist Ben ‘Alaska’ Bennett enjoyed a successful pro debut at Brave 13: Europe Evolution. Bennett had to deal with a last-minute opponent change, but overwhelmed eventual opponent Sebastian Kozok to win the bout by doctor’s stoppage at the end of the first round.

“During IMMAF World Championships we are unaware about our opponent,” he explained. “So the last minute change in the opponent did not affect me. During the world championships we are trained to focus on ourselves and one can expect any opponent. This helped me to focus on my game plan and to adapt really quick.”

“It feels great to start my debut with a victory. I had seen how Brave Combat Federation operates when I took part in the 2017 IMMAF world championships. It was impressive and after fighting for Brave Combat Federation, I cannot wait to return to compete in the promotion.”

Bennett also noticed the growing representation of fighters from the USA and is keen to return to Brave International Combat Week hosted in Bahrain, this time competing in the professional division.
