Famed boxing and sometime MMA trainer Freddie Roach recently spoke with Kenny Rice for Inside MMA, and said that GSP reports he is getting the itch to fight again.

“I trained him two days ago, before he went home,” said Roach. “And I said, ‘what do you think, are you going to fight again?’ And he says ‘I’m getting the itch.’

“I says, ‘well if you do, make sure you’re 100% healthy and everything’s right on point’. He says ‘the only way I’ll fight again is if you promise me you’ll be in my corner.’ So I said that’s not a problem. So I do think Georges will fight one more time at least. And we will train very hard for that fight. There’s nothing else. Hard work pays. You work hard, good things happen. And he’s a disciplined guy.”

“I was looking the other day at the locker room, and I said ‘who left their gloves here?’ It’s GSP’s … He’ll be back. His gloves are in my locker room. Yes, he’ll be back.”

Roach went on the admiringly discuss some differences between prizefighters and mixed martial artists.
