Frankie vs. Yair at UFC 211 in Dallas
The already very tremendous UFC 211 on May 13 just got more tremendous still.

The already very tremendous UFC 211 on May 13 just got more tremendous still.
With heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic vs. Junior dos Santos, women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Jessica Andrade, Demian Maia vs. Jorge Masvidal, and Fabrício Werdum vs. Ben Rothwell, the card was must see. Then former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier was announced.
However, Rothwell was then provisionally suspended over a potential anti-doping violation, and is presumably out. But just hours later, EPSN’s Brett Okamoto announced that top flyweights Henry Cejudo and Sergio Pettis had been added to the card. Styles still make fights and an Olympic gold medalist wrestler vs. a Taekwondo expert is as intriguing as it gets.
Now an insanely intriguing battle of the styles has been announced. The surging Taekwondo-based Yair Rodriquez will fight the ultra durable wrestler Frankie Edgar.
Rodriguez won The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America and in now on a six-fight win streak. Most recently he crushed the great BJ Penn. Edgar is coming off a win over Jeremy Stephens at UFC 205, is 6-1 his last seven.
UFC 211 will take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
