Four fighters get $50,000 bonuses at UFC 201
The nature of the sport is that you cannot predict with certainty what fights will end up being the best. UFC 200 was one of the greatest cards in the history of the sport, yet both $50,000 performance bonuses went to the winner of two of the three fights on the UFC Fight Pass prelims – Joe Lauzon and Gegard Mousasi. UFC 201 was the polar opposite.
The winner of the main event won a performance bonus, the co-main won Fight of the Night, and the fight before that won a performance bonus. UFC VP for talent relations Joe Silva put together the best card available, with the greatest fighters at the top, and they delivered.
In a sport where anything can happen, things went the way they should. That’s unusual.
