Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman to host new show on SiriusXM
‘Won’t Back Down Radio’ to debut October 17 and air Mondays on SiriusXM Fight Nation channel.
NEW YORK – Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will host a new show on SiriusXM Fight Nation, SiriusXM’s dedicated combat sports channel.
“Won’t Back Down Radio with Chris Weidman” debuts October 17 and will air Mondays from 5-6 p.m. ET on SiriusXM Fight Nation. The show will cover the latest news and events from the world of mixed martial arts and go beyond the octagon with Weidman and special guests discussing topics in sports, pop culture, entertainment and more.
“I’m excited to launch ‘Won’t Back Down Radio’ with SiriusXM and have the opportunity to work alongside MMA greats like Din Thomas, Anthony Smith and hosts Ryan McKinnell and R.J. Clifford,” said Weidman. “I can’t wait to talk all things MMA and connect with the fans of SiriusXM Fight Nation every week.”
Weidman began his professional MMA career in 2009 and won his first 16 fights inside the octagon. Weidman defeated Anderson Silva at UFC 162 in 2013 to claim the UFC middleweight championship and successfully defended his title three times over two-and-a-half years. Prior to his MMA career, Weidman was a two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler.
