LAS VEGAS – LFA CEO Ed Soares announced that the main event of LFA 161 will now be for the undisputed flyweight championship when the promotion returns to California this Friday. Top contenders Cody Davis and Igor Siqueira were originally vying for the interim flyweight title, but the fight was elevated to undisputed status when champion Felipe “Felipinho” Bunes was signed by the UFC.

LFA 161 will be the 15th LFA event to take place in the “Golden State,” while the main event will crown the eleventh 125-pound champion in LFA history.

LFA 161 takes place this Friday, June 23 at The Commerce Casino & Hotel in Commerce, California, which is located in southeast Los Angeles County. The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC Fight Pass at 10 p.m. ET.

“Cody Davis and Igor Siqueira will now fight for the undisputed LFA flyweight title at LFA 161,” stated Soares. “They were originally going to fight for the interim flyweight title, but our champion Felipe Bunes was just signed by the UFC. We will now start our exciting summer schedule in my home state of California with the undisputed LFA flyweight title on the line.”

Limited tickets for “LFA 161: Davis vs. Siqueira” are available for purchase through LFATIX.com.

Davis (7-1) is a man looking for the crowning moment of his career to come in his hometown of Los Angeles. After signing with the LFA in 2022, the 28-year-old Angeleno has won fights in Chicagoland at LFA 123, Los Angeles at LFA 148, and New York at LFA 155. After building his name and fanbase in the country’s three biggest media markets, Davis now looks to capture his first world title back in front of his local fans in Los Angeles. In fact, this was something the CMMA product specifically asked for after becoming the first man to defeat Joseph “Seay” Camacho at LFA 155 in March. Davis submitted the top Guamanian prospect with a first round arm-triangle choke and immediately jumped up with the signature hand gesture showing he wants a belt around his waist. He then confirmed to Gilbert Melendez in his post-fight interview, inside the cage, that was indeed what he wanted next. That opportunity will come at LFA 161.

Siqueira (9-1) is a man looking to keep the LFA flyweight title in Northeastern Brazil. This is because the title was just vacated by his teammate and friend Bunes, who won the title in January, but was just signed by the UFC. The 29-year-old Brazilian is a native of Moju, Para, Brazil, which is located just to the southwest of his home state’s capital city of Belem. The Paraense has since moved to Natal, Rio Grande do Norte in the Northeast Region of Brazil where he trains alongside the legendary Pitbull Brothers, Patricio and Patricky, as well as former LFA bantamweight champion Leandro Higo and Bunes. The man known as “Golden Boy” will now make his long-awaited American soil debut after picking up notable wins in his native Brazil as well as Colombia and Mexico. In fact, Siqueira is a regional champion in Mexico and now looks to add his first world title to his growing trophy case with a championship win at LFA 161.

The LFA 161 lineup now includes:

  • Cody Davis vs. Igor Siqueira – for vacant flyweight title
  • Renato Valente vs. Adriano Rodrigues
  • Rafael Do Nascimento vs. Jordan Winski
  • Danny Silva vs. Rafael Barbosa
  • Giovanna Canuto vs. Hilarie Rose
  • Alex Arteaga vs. Isaac Thomson
