“I’m staying at featherweight.
“I want a shot at the belt. I think Jose Aldo is one of the best fighters in the game. Lot of respect for him, big fan, but I think every UFC fighter’s dream is and should be to be a champion and to test yourself against the best and he’s one of the best. That’s what I want.
“We’ll see after that. I don’t want to look too far ahead but that’s what I have my eyes on.”

UFC President Dana White says Florian more than likely to get his wish:
Right after Kenny Florian’s decision win over Diego Nunes, tonight at UFC 131, he told the audience he wanted to make a run at the 145-pound title. And it looks like he just might get his chance.
When UFC President Dana White was asked, at tonight’s post-fight press conference in Vancouver, if Florian would fight UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo next, he replied more than likely.
Aldo was originally supposed to take on Chad Mendes at UFC 133 in August, however an injury sidelined the champ and Mendes will fight Rani Yahya instead. The injury to Aldo is looking more like Florian’s gain with a potential title shot now in line.
The bout could potentially be schedule for September or October, when Aldo should be fully recovered.
