Gomi is only thing on my mind. I’ve never denied a fight. Maynard is a good fighter but 1 thing at a time. Gray can call me out again after 3/31 if he wants.
Kenny expands on his reply on MMAWeekly radio
“That’s fine. Obviously Gray’s done well in this sport. He’s a good fighter, and a very tough guy to beat. I think that would be awesome, but I can’t look past Gomi.”
“My focus is only on Gomi. Any time you start looking ahead towards the fights that are going to happen in Boston or some guy who called you out or this guy wants to fight you, you start getting into some problems.”
“I’ll fight him (Maynard). People were asking me, that’s why I responded on Twitter. My focus is only on Takanori Gomi and none of that happens if I don’t beat Gomi. This is my championship fight. This is for me. This is a huge fight.”
“Gray Maynard can call me out again after the fight if that’s what he wants. “I’m always down for a good fight.”
